Understanding climate anxiety and providing evidence-based tools for environmental wellbeing.
Nurture exists to support people experiencing climate-related emotions. We believe that climate anxiety, eco-grief, and environmental distress are valid responses to a real crisis, and that with the right support, these feelings can be channeled into meaningful action and personal wellbeing.
Climate anxiety, also known as eco-anxiety or climate distress, refers to the chronic fear of environmental doom and the overwhelming feelings of helplessness, worry, and stress related to climate change and environmental degradation. It encompasses grief about environmental losses, fear about future conditions, and distress about the impact of climate change on oneself, loved ones, and future generations.
Climate anxiety can manifest in various ways, from mild worry about environmental issues to severe distress that interferes with daily functioning. Common symptoms include persistent thoughts about climate change, sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, feelings of hopelessness about the future, and a sense of powerlessness in the face of environmental challenges.
Climate anxiety is a rational response to a real global threat. However, when these feelings become overwhelming or interfere with daily life, it is important to seek appropriate support and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
Nurture is grounded in published research on the psychological impacts of climate change and evidence-based interventions for managing climate-related anxiety and distress.

This research provides the foundation for the assessment tools, coping strategies, and action-oriented approaches featured throughout the Nurture platform.
Nurture was developed by Christopher Kricorian, a high school student passionate about environmental issues and mental health. Recognizing the growing need for accessible tools to address climate anxiety, Christopher created this platform to help individuals understand, cope with, and channel their environmental concerns into positive action.
Our mission is to provide evidence-based resources that help people transform climate anxiety into climate agency — moving from overwhelm to empowerment through understanding, self-care, and meaningful action.
Addressing climate anxiety is not about eliminating concern for our environment, but rather about developing healthy ways to process these feelings while maintaining hope and taking constructive action.
